A Concept Map is a graphical tool for organizing and representing knowledge. Concept mapping is a truly powerful way of representing and sharing information and by implication also knowledge.
Concept Maps will help learners learn, researchers create new knowledge, administrators to better structure and manage organizations, writers to write, and evaluators assess learning.
Cmaps are used worldwide in all domains of knowledge and by users of all ages to graphically express their understanding. In particular, Cmaps are used for education, training, knowledge management, brainstorming, organizing information, and others. The collaboration and publishing features provide a powerful means for representing and sharing knowledge.
Perhaps the most well-known tool in this regard is Cmaps from the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition. IHMC CmapTools client is FREE for use by anybody, whether its use is commercial or non-commercial.
